Thanks to many individuals, civic & community groups, businesses, churches, and local foundations, EDDC was able to open its doors May 4, 2026. The staff and board are overwhelmed by such support, confirming the much-needed program in this community. To celebrate this opening, an Open House Celebration was held on June 18. Estes Dementia Day Center
Welcome to a safe, respectful, and engaging place for people in the early to middle stages of Dementia. EDDC is a community-based adult social day program designed to help adults living with dementia remain connected, engaged, and supported while living at home. The program combines social connection, cognitive stimulation, creative expression, physical movement, lunch and snacks, and opportunities for rest as needed. This safe environment is led by staff and volunteers with specialized dementia training.
We are so excited to announce that we are open! Our lovely space is in the lower level of St. Bart’s Church (880 MacGregor Ave., Estes Park). We are open Monday – Thursday 8 am – 4:30 pm. What is Dementia?
Dementia is an umbrella term for conditions that affect memory, thinking, and behavior enough to interfere with daily life, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s dementia, and mixed dementia. While these conditions are not reversible, social interaction, enrichment, healthy routines, intellectual engagement, and community connection can support quality of life and may help slow decline.
Why EDDC?
EDDC addresses a clear local service gap: families in the Estes Valley who want to keep a loved one with dementia at home have had limited nearby access to specialized adult day programming, with comparable services requiring travel to communities such as Fort Collins or Longmont. By bringing dementia-informed day center care into Estes Park, EDDC reduces travel burden, strengthens caregiver resilience, and helps families sustain care at home longer.
EDDC is positioned as both a person-centered care program and a caregiver support strategy, offering safety, meaningful engagement, respite, and community connection for families affected by dementia.
EDDC offers half-day and full-day attendance options Monday through Thursday, using an activity framework organized around four core areas: cognitive, creative, social, and physical engagement. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8 am – 4:30 pm
The current fee is $20 per hour, with scholarship and sliding-scale accommodation available so financial barriers do not prevent families from accessing care.
