Step Out & Care! Come have fun and be a part of the creating the new Estes Dementia Day Center for our Estes Valley residents by participating in the Walk / Run around Lake Estes on Sunday, September 14th from 1:00 – 3:00. ALL ages and ability levels are welcome. Join as an individual, a family or a team and dress up if you like! (Strollers, wheelchairs and wagons are welcome / no bikes or scooters please for the safety of all.)

Dear Supporters,
Did you know that 1 in 10 people over the age of 65 are diagnosed with some form of dementia (cognitive and memory decline)? We all know a friend or family member who either has dementia or is caring for someone with these struggles. This takes a toll on caregivers as you may know, and research tells us that social engagement makes a positive difference for those with dementia.
In Larimer County there is only one non-profit Dementia Day Care facility, operating five days a week to provide engaging care for those with dementia and time of respite for their family members. Elderhaus, in Ft. Collins, is a wonderful place but too far away for those in Estes to utilize on a regular basis (more than an hour from Estes).
About eight months ago a small group of concerned EP community members met to discuss the feasibility of establishing a non-profit day program facility similar to Elderhaus here in Estes, and now the Estes Dementia Day Center (EDDC) is closer to becoming a reality. We are hoping to open in early 2026 if we make our fundraising goals.
EDDC’s vision is to foster a culture of care and support in Estes Valley, for adults with dementia and their caregivers.
EDDC’s mission is to serve local adults with dementia through a safe, caring and enriching day program while offering caregivers essential time for respite.
EDDC’s values are compassion, dignity, safety, and joy.
We are reaching out to businesses (and individuals) to help us reach our goal of $500,000.00 needed to make this a sustainable reality.
One opportunity for businesses is to sponsor the inaugural Step Out and Care Fundraising Walk around Lake Estes. This is a chance for people of all ages to have fun together and support this endeavor for those with dementia and their families.

Step Out and Care Fundraising Walk
Supporting the Creation of the Estes Dementia Day Center
Date: Sunday September 14th
Time: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Location: Walk/Run on the Lake Estes trail starting and ending near the parking garage.
Registration and Cost: All Sponsors are eligible to optionally walk/run with up to four team members.
Sponsor levels for the fundraising walk:
SPONSORS can choose to be recognized or remain anonymous.
$100.00 and above will have their names listed for the take home bags
$500.00 and up will additionally have their logo on the walk event banner, in the local newspapers and on the event webpage until after the event
$1,000.00 or more will additionally have their company logo on the website event and follow up website news
$2,500.00 or more will additionally have their logo or individual names on our website for 12 months (if sponsor would like that).
$10,000 or more will be named on our website permanently as Founding Members
Any Sponsor Organization may give us coupons, pens, cards etc. with their business information, to be included in the take home bags.
